Mark,

don't know if this helps but take a look
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938627/en-us

We had a hard time reinstalling the whole infrastructure 5 times because we
thought the reporting installation issue had to do with going to x64, SQL
2005 SP2 2003 SP2.

Check ManagementGroup table in the DW. What is the WriterLoginName column
value? THat's the account that should be associated with "Data Warehouse
Account" Run-As Profile

Hi

Thanks for the reply.
I did all that, everything matches. We now get erros saying that the login
is not associated with a trusted sql server connection. The user is a domain
account, and I set the sql authentication to windows only. the use has dbo
access to the database.

Check the following things:

1) Open console and switch to the "Administration" tab;
2) Click on Run-As Accounts and double click "Data Warehouse SQL Server
Authentication Account"
3) Switch to the Account tab and confirm the account name is single space (I
suspect it is not - if that's the case, set it to single space)
4) Check the account is associated to same-name profile (on the "Run As
Profile" tab)

What I think is hapenning, you have instructed SCOM to use SQL Server native
auth to DW (by setting the account above to non-empty account).

What type of authentication should the Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account be using? I have set the name to a single space, using simple authentication but I am still having the same problem.

Thank you,
