Technical guide of the OperationsManagerDW database?

Hi there

I'm look for a technical 'guide' to the OperationsManagerDW database, but
have been unable to locate one.

Is anyone aware of where such a guide can be located? I know other vendors
publish 'crib' sheets for their databses, so developers can understand where
everything is.

In order to create custom reports on our SCOM 2007 server, it is obviously
important to know where data is actually stored i.e. which table holds the
netbios names of the computer, the availablity record, heartbeat, that sort
of thing.

Advice appreciated

Hello John_Henrys_Hammer,

Have you looked in the Authoring guide and report authoring guide at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/opsmgr/bb498235.aspx

Thank you for replying Anders, much appreciated

I have looked at those documents, what I am looking for is a specific DBA
guide to the OperationsManagerDW database.

Cheers again

John,

Unfortunately there is no documentation about OperationManagerDB but if you
look at the DB i am sure you can figure out easily. It takes little time but
once you start run custom queries you can figure out tables and fields.

We tried to make DW db structure as transparent as possible. Of course, the
data layout isn't that simple due to the complexity of the problem at its
root. Some DB structure info is available at authormps.com/dwschema.

Remember, when you create custom reports always access views, never
tables...

Thanks,
Vitaly
